This program will help patients and their providers identify practices that provide high quality breast MRI by evaluating the qualifications of personnel, equipment performance, effectiveness of quality control measures, and image quality. Breast MRIPosted: December 17, 2008 WNY MRI has acquired a “state of the art” 7 channel Invivo breast coil. The Invivo breast coil is used to perform bilateral breast MRI and MRI guided breast biopsy on our Hitachi 1.5T MRI. MRI breast imaging is used as a valuable adjunct to mammography and ultrasound for the evaluation of breast cancer. It is used to investigate the concerns detected with mammography, physical exam and ultrasound. MRI has the ability to display imaging detail 100 times greater in soft tissue contrast; therefore, it has increased sensitivity in detecting small tumors.
