Cardiac Calcium Score
A cardiac calcium score is a non-invasive method of determining the location and amount of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries. The coronary arteries are the vessels that supply oxygen-rich blood to the heart. WNY Imaging Group’s cardiac calcium scores take pictures of the heart in very thin sections, while the computer measures the levels of calcium. This provides you with a cardiac calcium score. The entire procedure takes less than 10 minutes and there is no X-ray contrast involved.
